Day 01:Arrive Kolkata
Upon arrival. Meet our local representative waiting at the airport and then transfer to the hotel.Overnight.
Early morning,transfer to airport for the flight to Chennai.Upon arrival,transfer to hotel.Chennai is popular as the gateway to Southern India, established in 1639 by the East India Company,is one of the oldest cities of the country.Enjoy local sightseeing of Chennai.Visit Parthasarathy Temple,Kapaleeswarar Temple,Shirdi Sai baba Temple,Marina Beach.Overnight
Day 03:Chennai–Tirupati Balaji-Chennai
After early breakfast,drive to Tirupati(135 kms/3 hours). Upon arrival, proceed for Tirupati Temple Darshan.Return to Chennai for night stay.
After early breakfast, proceed to Mahabalipuram(55 kms/1.5 hours),known as Mamallapuram. En-route we will visit Kanchipuram, known as the city of thousand temples. Kanchipuram was a major seat of Tamil learning as well as an important place of pilgrimage for Buddhists, Jains and Hindus. Later drive to Pondicherry (100 kms/2 hours). Visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram,Pondicherry Museum,Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,Manakula Vinayagar Koil Temple. Later,check into the hotel and overnight stay.
After breakfast,leave for Tiruchirapalli(212 kms/3.5 hours). Upon Arrival,Visit temple tour of Trichy (short name of Tiruchirappalli) visiting Srirangam - 5 kms from Trichy, located in an island of Srirangam. Surrounded by the Kaveri water is a 600 acre island town enclosed within the seven walls on the gigantic Sri Ranganathaswamy temple. There are no less than 22 Gopurams, one of which is the tallest in India. The 72 m high 13 tiered Gopuram dominates the landscape for miles around. Also visit the Rock Fort: Trichy's most famous landmark is 83 mt high rock which is the only outcrop in the otherwise flat inland of the city. The most amazing fact about the rock is that it is one of the oldest in the world. The sheer abruptness of its rise is an attention grabber. But the actual centre of attraction is not the fort itself, of which very little remains, but the temple at the summit. Later proceed to Thanjavur (60 kms/1 hour) and go for temple tour of Thanjavur visiting UNESCO listed Brihadeswara Temple. Thanjavur is the birthplace of the Carnatic music, musical instruments, dance and traditional handicrafts Most of the Great Living Chola Temples which are UNESCO World heritage monuments are located in and around Thanjavur. Later proceed to Madurai(190 kms/3 hours). Upon arrival,check into the hotel.Overnight Stay.
Day 06:Madurai–Rameswaram–Overnight Train to Chennai
After breakfast,Visit Meenakshi Temple,a historic Hindu temple located on the southern bank of the Vaigai River in the temple city of Madurai and then proceed to Rameswaram (165 kms / 3 hours). Visit Ramanathaswamy Temple,Dhanushkodi ruined temple, Adam’s Bridge, Pamban Bridge, Ariyaman Beach, Hanuman temple, Annai Indira Gandhi Road Bridge. After dinner, proceed to Station for overnight train to Chennai.Overnight on board.
Day 07:Chennai – Kolkata
Upon arrival in the morning, transfer to airport for your flight to Kolkata.Upon arrival transfer to hotel.Visit the famous,Victoria Memorial,Kali temple.Pass through Eden Garden,Dalhousie area,Howrah bridge.Last minute shopping in New market.Overnight at hotel
Day 08:Kolkata Departure
After breakfast, transfer to airport for the return flight.
